It is here at Le Filigare, that in the summer of 1857, the Archduke of Tuscany invited Pope Pius IX to enjoy the beauty of Tuscany and savour it's fine wines and oil. It's easy to see why they chose this estate in the heart of Chianti, situated on a hill overlooking some of the world's most precious vineyards, where the production of fine wine can be traced back to the 300's. Now in the hands of noted jeweler Carlo Cassetti Burchi and his family, Le Filigare continues it's reputation for quality wines and warm hospitality. Besides it's noted wine the estate offers comfortable stylish apartments withwonderful views, perfect for a relaxing and invigorating stay.
Located near San Donato in Poggio, halfway between Florence and Siena, in the very heart of the area known as Chianti Classico Gallo Nero, the farm has a total area of nearly 60 hectares. The goal of the farm is to maintain this limited, artisanal production along with the collaboration of qualified experts, in order to privide wines that represent the best of Tuscany's Chianti Classico.
Apartments with living-dining room, open plan kitchen, range, oven, fridge/freezer. Bath with shower room, some with jacuzzi. Apartments are in the traditional Tuscan style with terracotta floors and beamed cielings.
